Jeepin' in July

On July 4th, Josh and I took a day trip in the Jeep up McDevitt Creek to look at some property in the mountains that he saw last summer on a motorcycle ride and wanted to show me, too. We saw some beautiful wildflowers, wonderful overlooks, and explored around a hunting cabin. It was a rewarding drive; we love exploring God's country together!

We found a patch of snow on the road on the way back down, and Josh stopped to make his signature summer snowman! There were a couple of pinecones on the snow pad, so we turned it into a female snowman, which he's never made before!

We went Jeeping again on the last weekend of the month. This time we drove up to Basin Lake and spent the night right next to the lake in our tent. We hadn't been there before, and it was quite a rough ride to get there, but the views were amazing, and we had the place to ourselves all night and the next morning, which was incredible. It was so peaceful! On Sunday morning, Josh took a hike around the lake, and then we sat by the lake for hours reading books and listening to the serene sounds of the high mountain lake before heading back home. It was amazing!
Can you spot the Mountain Goat? Josh saw it
before we headed up the mountain road.
