Kanyon got involved in the Homecoming festivities in September, which was so fun! He participated in the Buff Puff and the dress-up days. He didn't want to do the skits & lip syncs, and he didn't go to the dance or the after-party at Emmy's Coffee Shop, but he did play with the pep band in both the Homecoming parade down Main Street and again at the football game.
The Sophomore class dressed up as princesses at the Buff Puff. They had two very close games against the Freshmen and then the Juniors. They played all 3 games against both classes, and were the only class to play all 6 games that night in the competition. They got 3rd place overall. It was fun to watch!
He usually doesn't participate in dress-up days, but he did this year because he got extra credit in math class if he did. On the day of the home volleyball game, the dress-up day was "White Lies": the concept was to wear a white t-shirt, and write a lie on it. Kanyon wore a shirt that we gave Josh many years ago for Father's Day, that said "#1 Dad". It was a funny sight!
I was gone for the parade, but Josh was able to go and take pictures of Kanyon in the band float. He played in the game that night, too. Salmon's team played North Fremont, and the score was 46-0 at the end of the first half. Our team scored during the second half (yay!) AND we played good defense, preventing them from scoring again, so the final score was 46-7.
