Father's Day weekend this year was a super rainy one! It's always a busy weekend in Salmon at the park with the Bender Beverage Golf Tournament, the Spokes & Chrome Car Show, and baseball tournaments. However, this year, due to the rain, the baseball tournament got cancelled, and the car show got moved to the parking lot rather than the larger grass area (because it was SO wet, and difficult for cars to get around on). The golf tournament was still on, though, and Josh mowed all Saturday morning in the rain to get the course ready.
We took the boys to the car show that afternoon (except Ammon who was in Boise with his friends at a concert). There wasn't as many cars as usual of course, because people don't want to take out their nice cars in the rain ;), but we still had a good time!
Josh and I went out to dinner that night at the 28 Club with John, and Amanda & Ryan. Josh loves their prime rib, and it was a nice Father's Day treat for him! When we got back to town that night, we drove around with our friends, and Josh showed Ryan some of the golf course (he'd never been before). We got there just as the sun was setting, so Josh (with his mad photography skills as of late) captured the sunset beautifully!
After church on Sunday, and the meal with his parents, we gave Josh some gifts that he found along a scavenger hunt that the boys had written clues for. Gifts this year included some of his favorite drinks and edibles (the boys helped me pick those out), a Saints yard gnome, an outdoor drink holder stake, and a river rafting trip for 2 (that Ammon won at Senior Sober and gifted it to Josh and I--such a thoughtful gift!!).
The final event in our Father's Day weekend was going over to Jackson's house on Sunday night for a dinner of mouth-watering smoked ribs, cream corn, baked mac & cheese, and rolls. It was super delicious and the company was fun! We played Ticket to Ride afterwards, and Josh took away the win (of course), but since it was Father's Day, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!!
