examined & exposed

Out with the Old, In with the New: Part 12

After we decided last November that we for sure wanted this specific home lot model, the manufactured home sales company took it off the sales lot so that other people wouldn't be interested in purchasing it. They disconnected it and got it ready to move and put it in a back parking lot until we were ready for it to come to Salmon. It sat there for months while we waited for the home loan process to be complete. During that time, the ground froze and thawed and froze and thawed, and the home got several large cracks in the ceiling from the process. When we first saw the home, it was in perfect condition, and then when we viewed it on the lot just weeks before they delivered it to Salmon, we noticed all the cracks. There is a one-year warranty on the home, and it was the sales company's responsibility to fix the cracks before we moved in. Here's some of the largest ones I noticed after they were all done moving it and setting it up on our foundation:

In the entrance:
In the living room:
In between the kitchen and family room:
I took several other 'before' shots inside the house, all of them showing areas that would be improved. After the two halves were set in place, the center line inside the house was very obvious, and also needed repair:

Ceiling central line:
Flooring central line:
And there were several beams exposed, that would need to be fixed and drywalled, like these:

On the wall next to the dining room:
In the hallway adjoining the kids' bedrooms:
And there were other random items in the house that needed to be fixed:

Like some wall panels in the master bedroom:
And the island countertop in the kitchen:
There was a lot of work that needed to be done inside the house before we could move in:

But in just 10 days' time, it was ready to move into!!!

...to be continued
