At the 4th grade spring track meet, Ammon competed in the long jump, the softball throw, the 200m, the 400m, and the 4x100m relay race. And he earned two 3rd place medals--in the relay race and the 400m race!!!
Ammon is a big reader. Our school uses the AR (Accelerated Reader) program, and Ammon scored higher points than any other 4th grader his teacher has ever had. The school librarian was also very impressed with the level of books that Ammon checked out, read, returned, and his high scoring on the AR tests! Towards the end of the year, he read the Eragon trilogy (a 6th-7th grade reading level) and loved them!
In addition to the regular prizes given to AR students who meet their goals, his teacher gave him a special award for being such an excellent reader: $5 cash, a hat, and a T-shirt!!
Ammon was a great 4th grade student! He earned all A's throughout the year (sometimes with the help of extra credit) and he was very proud of this accomplishment!
He received many "Terrific Kid" awards from the local Kiwanis club throughout the year, and at the end of the year, he also received the "Honor Roll" award from his teacher!
{Ammon, we are so proud of you! We are so thankful that you set high goals for yourself and you do your best to achieve them! Way to Go on receiving so many awards this year! You definitely earned them! We love you, son!}

Way to go Ammon! He is such a cute little guy!
Hey Kala,
I was looking at your blog and wondered if that boy on the right of the picture of the boys ready to start a race is a Jones?
Ethan Jones?
It looks a lot like him, they used to live in our ward and the twins were in my daughters 1st grade class, she had a big crush on him and then they moved.
I'm so proud of him! I love that I'm his aunt. I love you, Ammon! Hope to see you soon!!
