Double 11 on the 22nd

My twins Jonah and Micah are now 11 years old!! It was their turn to have a friend birthday party this year, and I think it was the easiest party I've ever given for any of my kids. It was such a fun day!!!

Their birthday is on September 22, which was a Monday this year, so we chose to celebrate with friends on the Saturday prior to their birthdate. They had a football game in Idaho Falls that day, so we chose to do something in the Idaho Falls area afterwards. We were going to go to an indoor fun center, but then the weather forecast showed that it was going to be an awesome sunny day, so we decided to go to the Squealer's outdoor Family Fun Center in Rigby instead.

The boys each picked one boy that they wanted to invite. Micah picked Cooper Williams, and Jonah invited Erik Oliverson. Erik is also on their football team, so his dad drove him down, and we picked up Cooper early that morning and drove him down to Idaho Falls. Their game that day was at Tautphaus Park and it was over by 12:30. We got some pizza, and found a park in Ammon for the boys to eat lunch and play for a bit before we drove to Rigby.

We got to Squealer's at 2:00, and played for 3 solid hours. There wasn't very many people there when we first arrived, so they didn't even have to wait in long lines. They got to do all the activities, some multiple times, and everyone had a great time!
Cooper wasn't tall enough to go on the adult go-karts,
so the the boys all went on the smaller go-karts once with him.

They went miniature golfing twice on the 18-hole course.
They especially loved the hole that went across a stream.

I loved watching them in the bumper boats!
There were only 5 boats, so Ammon shared a boat with Cooper
so that all the boys could ride on the same round.
Mostly, the boys' favorite activity was the go-karts. They would ride the go-karts, then do a different activity, then ride the go-karts again, then do another activity, repeat pattern.

Micah on the large go-kart track.
Kanyon was also too short to ride the bigger go-karts, so he went by himself
on the smaller ones a few times.
But his favorite was the miniature golf course.
He went a lot and loved it!
The boys had a break mid-way through their 3-hours to eat snow cones.
I bought a few different flavors,
so they tried each one to determine which one they liked the best.

Micah & Erik climbing the rock wall.
Ammon climbed it multiple times--until he started getting
blisters on his fingers from gripping so much!

At 5:00, we drove back to Idaho Falls, got some hamburgers & corn dogs for dinner, then the boys watched a movie in the car on the drive back to Salmon. It had been a super fun birthday party for all of us!

On Sunday afternoon, we cooked the boys requested birthday dinner: steak and mashed potatoes. Grandma and Grandpa T. joined us for the meal, and it was super delicious!

Afterwards, they opened up gifts from Josh and I, and from Grandma and Grandpa Perkins, and Grandma and Grandpa Tolman.

Josh and I got them each a new air soft gun & colored pellets, a new sleeping bag, new Gatorade water bottle, and an UnderArmour hooded sweatshirt. We also got Micah new church pants, and Jonah new church shoes. Grandma & Grandpa P. gave them a new scout shirt and scout book, art set, shirts, pants & shorts, and an agosport ball game (which they love!). Grandma & Grandpa T. gave them cash (always a good gift!), and Uncle Tim & Barb gave them water balloons and cash.

After gifts, we had brownies and ice cream for their chosen birthday dessert. We sang to them and they blowed out birthday candles at the same time.

On Monday, their actual birthdate, they took treats to school to share with their class. This is the last time they'll do that, as next year they will be older and won't be in the elementary school anymore with a homeroom class.
