Easter 2019

We went to Utah for Easter. Josh and I took the 3 younger boys down to my parents' new home in Providence on Saturday and spent the night. Josh and I drove over to North Ogden that evening to watch Amanda and Ryan speak at their adult session of stake conference, and we both enjoyed listening to them and sitting by them. While we were gone, the twins went to an X Ambassadors concert at Utah State. Mick had gotten tickets for it, and didn't end up using them, so he offered them to the boys instead. That was their first concert, and they had a great time! Kanyon hung out at Grandma and Grandpa's house while the rest of us were gone that evening.

On Sunday, Grandpa and the twins went to church while Josh and I helped Grandma get everything ready for the Easter get-together. She had recently been in the hospital, and was still mending, so she chose to stay home and we were glad to help her with the food and house preparations. Everyone came over that afternoon for the meal, egg hunt, and festivities except Cody (who had to work), Ammon (who was at college), and Lisa's family. We were worried about the weather--it had rained off and on that weekend, but the weather held out for the outside activities, which was nice. It was another wonderful Easter with the Perkins family!

The Easter Bunny came--although a bit late (she didn't remember to set out
the baskets until Sunday morning--whoops!). Jonah and Micah got pajamas
and socks, and Kanyon got athletic shorts and underwear. They also all
got 3 bags of their favorite kinds of candies!!

My dessert creation on the fly as a contribution for the family lunch on Sunday--
they're cornflake cookies with a Cadbury's egg in each one, so they look like nests.

Jen and her girls--they sat like this, and it was
so picturesque, I just had to snap a shot!

Fynn's first Easter! (he had just woken up after driving from South Salt Lake)

He got so much attention, he didn't know what to do!

Brendan showing me a gymnastics trick!

Josh and I rearranged the dining room/kitchen for the family meal while dad
and the twins were at church that morning. The temporary transformation
was so much more conducive to feeding everyone with a pleasant traffic flow!

We ended up having multiple Easter egg hunts to accommodate for the weather
and the small yard that mom and dad have now. The first egg hunt was
the Adult GOLD!

Dad gets a kick out of watching his kids search for the big-ticket egg!

I found it in the rocks!!! Yay!!
Tabbi totally caught my shocked face!

I had slipped in some of the new black mulch, because it
was wet from the rain, so when someone asked me where
I'd found the golden egg at, I just turned around and told
them I pooped it out!! ;)

The 2nd egg hunt was for EVERYONE! We all picked up five eggs, which were
of different values, but we didn't know what they were worth until the egg hunts
were all done, and we were each given a tabulation sheet.

We all lined up on at the edge of the new driveway,
and had to wait for the traditional song to stop
playing on the stuffed lamb that mom is holding
before we were allowed to start the egg hunt.

The 3rd egg hunt was the GOLD for the kids indoors, which Abby got, and the
4th (& final) egg hunt was for the SILVER in the yard, which Aspen found in the tree.

We didn't do Chubby Bunny this year--but we did play the Saran Wrap game again,
and mom's rule this year was you could only use one hand!! This was the kid's game.

Then it was the adult's turn. It got a bit raucous, but we had so much fun!

We were all tired out from all the fun that day;
the boys even fell asleep on the drive back home on Sunday evening!
