Superbowl Tradition

Watching the Superbowl with our friends the Tarkalsons has become an annual tradition that we look forward to and treasure. This is the 4th year in a row that they've joined us, and we have such a good time with them! We make a ton of food, eat non-stop the whole night, have a guessing contest for the predicted final score of the game, laugh at commercials, and watch football together. Their kids are the same ages as our kids, so they all get along great with each other, which is super nice, and Josh and I have a lot in common with Eric & Ashley, so we enjoy their company. It's a really fun for all of us, and this year was no exception!

Here was this year's spread (except for the beanie weanies). Such good food! And the Monster Cookies that Ashley made (in the center of the table) were super addicting!

Here were the predicted scores for the evening. On this chart, B represents Broncos, and S represents Seahawks. Everyone guessed which team they thought would win, and what the score would be. The person who picks the winning team and the closest score wins a prize.

The game this year was very one-sided and kind of boring (obviously we're not huge Seahawks fans or it would've been much more exciting). We were a little disappointed that the Broncos didn't make it a better game. The end result was Seahawks-43, Broncos-8. Micah picked the winning team and got the closest score, and won the prize: a bag of Cadbury chocolates.

Here's the group towards the beginning of the Superbowl (when the sun was still out):

And here's everyone towards the end of the evening (except me who was taking the photo):

We love this annual tradition with the Tarkalson family! Having good friends to make happy memories with sure makes cleaning the house worth it! ;)
